A special menu for your wedding could change the whole experience for yourself and your guests. As they say ‘’the way to a (wo)man heart is  through his(her) stomach’’.

Here are some tips to have an exclusive and personalized menu.

1. Your wedding, your food

Relate the menu to something that is of meaning for you, as this is all about your special day. If your groom proposed you during your trip to Paris, why not have French food served? You could have desserts such as crème brulee and crepes. If you both love eating pastas and eat it a lot, serve your guests the pastas you like. This whole wedding is about you and your love life; base your menu on this. Family traditions can be used as an inspiration for the menu as well, as this was maybe something important in your life.

2. Theme it

Theme your wedding and base your food choices on the theme. Would you like to have a beach wedding? You can have a relaxed beach BBQ.  Do you have an exotic theme? Serve exotic food. You can even base your menu on your honeymoon destination. Are you going to China, offer some Chinese food on your wedding.

3. Combine your cultures

If you are both from different countries, you could combine both your heritages. You could set up two different buffets, or you could combine traditional food together in one menu. On the menus you can explain where the food is coming from and what it means to you.

4. Chef entertainment

Seeing a chef cooking the food can be entertaining. One possibility is to have the  chef prepare flaming crepes at the table side or having a sushi bar and seeing the sushi chef preparing the different choices. Enjoy!

5.  KISS – keep it simple, sweet

Sometimes the simplest food can create the best menu. Two perfect, spectacular dishes can be more memorable than a wide variety of food.

6. Colours, colours, colours

Use your colour choices for your wedding menu as well. You could colour your martini blue, if you’re colour scheme is blue. You could even do this with the food as well.  Food should look as good as it tastes, as we ‘’eat with our eyes first’’.

7. Creative menu presentation

Last but not least: present your menu card in a creative way.  You could present your menu in many different ways. For example, you could print your menu on a napkin. Another idea could be to print it on a wine bottle. This will create  that extra special touch to your wedding menu.
