Years of experience in the wedding industry has helped me pick up a thing or two about the main things that worry Brides…that being said there is no need to have the #MondayBlues, your wedding planner will be there for you to help reduce the stress load! Here’s a few things that always rank high in the worry list…

Keeping the parents happy

Keeping your parents happy is always tricky, it’s hard for them to let you go and because of that they feel the constant need to have a say in everything. It ends up being bittersweet because you do want them to have a say but can’t for the life of you make them understand the concept of a Gazebo wedding, or a non-Church ceremony!

finding the perfect venue

This is either the easiest decision you’ll make, or the one that causes the most stress and second-guessing. Luckily if you get a wedding planner, like myself, I will help guide you through the process. You will battle with the fact that you don’t want a hotel but you’ll need accommodation, you’re head over heels over the ballroom, but the bar is outside, you love the view, but it’s three hours from your church. And that list goes on and on and on…

children at weddings politics

Some couples have an issue with having children at weddings, no one wants children screaming in the background while they are exchanging  vows, but is it unfair to say I do not want children there? Will people take offense to this? These will be some of the questions running through your mind! It is important to stick to your guns when making a decision about this topic.

a spiralling budget

Budgets, in general, bring with them a lot of stress. Setting a realistic budget and not budging is the order of the day here, but when you’re in the swing of things all talk of ‘realistic’ goes out the window and ‘but it’s our wedding day’ becomes the quote of the month

the GUEST LIST

The guest list. Where oh where does one start with the guestlist? Between family politics, kids, exes, colleagues…the whole plus one situation, the guestlist can be a minefield when planning a wedding. There’s no two ways about it, this isn’t going to be the most fun you’ve ever had but get your head down, power through and expect some controversial views.

ACCOMMODATION of guests

Be prepared to send the definitive list of accommodation, prices, contact details and breakfast menus, and to STILL get phone calls from people asking is there accommodation nearby, and if you’d mind booking it for them. Luckily if you are planning to get married in Malta, I can always help you with these things.

getting people to rsvp

RSVPs generally don’t happen, you need to  start thinking like that. Even if you stamp and address an RSVP card, you’re still going to find out your cousin will be coming through your aunty. There are several guides to spoon-feeding guests into sending a formal yes or no, but more than likely you’ll have one or two people who won’t even text you.

the seating plan

The seating plan could slot into place like some sort of beautiful, evocative poem, or it could end up looking like your version of ‘conceptual art’. Where family is involved there’s history, and where there’s history there are wars. You may also come up against messy break ups, different languages, baby chairs, feuding families… Or you could implement a ‘free-seating’ policy which is worth thinking about.

the weather

Just everything about the weather can cause stress!

UNSATISFIED with Hair/Make up trial

This one can be the most depressing because you have everything set by now and you’re all excited to head to the salon with your bridesmaids and mum and then you Hate it.. You cry a little, and then you stress. And then you man up and go for a second trial and everything is peaches and cream.

sending out invites

Invites are hard work. After deciding on a style and finalizing the guest list the fun begins. Proof reading, timing, addresses, plus ones, spelling names correctly… It all takes time, and a bit of stress along the way.
