Being a bride gives you the perfect excuse to show off that inner swag, since its #SaturdaySwag there is no better time to give you the insight in ‘how to be the perfect bridezilla’.

This is just a fun article written in jest which is meant to get you all excited for your big day as it is indeed your DAY…As a wedding planner I would advise you to NOT follow any of this so called advise but nevertheless the goal is the wedding, and the bride is the queen (sometimes we have a Groomzilla as well and in this case he gets to be the king).

The wedding can be planned in a most blissful way with smiles all around or by way of “it’s my way or the highway” attitude! Both options achieve the end result, but in the second one, the bride gets to be Her Royal Highness Queen Bridezilla. Some think it’s far more fun planning a wedding this way! If you are so inclined, here’s what you need to do:

  • You must use the phrase “MY day” as much and as often as possible!
  • You should decide to be the bridezilla early, so you can get started from the moment you get engaged.
  •  Sorry, did someone mention the “budget”? Hmm… sorry… didn’t quite hear what you said… pardon? Budget-shmudget. It’s MY day, I get what I want.
  • Time to look for a venue? Ha, and you thought you only get to torture your family and friends? If you plan this well, you’ll have at least a dozen venue wedding coordinators to educate about YOUR day!
  • By now you should have a pretty good idea who your bridesmaids will be. Go ahead and double that number – inevitably a few will drop out before the wedding from sheer exhaustion, so you still need to have enough to make a nice procession.
  • The queen needs an appropriate wardrobe, so now comes the wedding dress shopping. Finding a dress will become more important than the wedding itself. When you finally find a dress you love and it’s miles over your budget, see point above about budget-shmudget.
  • Your wedding planning will take some months and some people will ask you to do monotonous stuff like… go to work, attend appointments and family functions, and anything else that is included in the so called “real life”. Set the record straight from the very beginning – you are The Bride and you just don’t have time for all that nonsense. Sorry, I’m busy planning MY day.
  • The wedding suppliers are the extension of your loyal subject
