It’s finally Friday and we could all do with a good read, so why start researching celebrations for the day after the wedding so you can extend the celebrations a little bit further.
Mimosa & bloody mary brunch
Organise with a venue to put on a bit of a flamboyant cocktail morning the day after the wedding. Check when you must leave the hotel and arrange to have a section of the hotel/venue set up for guests to wander in, have a Mimosa or Bloody Mary and chill out before they head off ! This will be a nice, casual but splendid end to the wedding festivities and will be valued by all who attend.
Head down the pub
One of the most popular choices for most couples the day after their wedding is to arrange a few drinks and some finger food at a pub; here in Malta there is a wide selection of possible venues/pubs to select from. You can keep this quite casual by just mentioning it to guests the day of the wedding so that nobody feels pressured to attend. For many couples this is one of the highlights of their wedding celebrations as they are often more relaxed, comfortable and can chat to anyone they missed the day before.
Casual Dinner
If you think you might not be up for another day of madness, keep it simple by arranging a table at a local restaurant for parents, siblings and your bridal party. This will be a nice way to unwind for a couple of hours while still feeling like the celebrations are going on. This is also a good idea if you think you’re going to be tired the day after – it’s much easier to make your excuses to leave early for bed when you’re around a smaller number of people!
BBQ Fun
BBQs are another very popular choice for couples and can be easily arranged by your wedding coordinator, we tend to do this often here in Malta. A midday BBQ is a great way to start a full day of fun! Have a think about what you want to do the day after the wedding while you are negotiating your wedding venue, and you might get them to throw in the BBQ at a very good price!
get on the road
Traditionally couples used to go off on their honeymoon the day after the wedding however this isn’t the norm anymore as couples are choosing to wait a couple of months before heading off. That being said, if you’re planning a minimoon or city break, why not head off the day after in a blaze of glory? Especially if you are in Malta, you might as well take this opportunity to explore the island. We love the idea of jumping in the car after breakfast with family and friends and spending the day on the road with your new hubby/wife, stopping off for lunch, chatting about everything that happened the day before. It can be very romantic!
Stay in Bed all day
