Summer is a great time for a wedding. The weather is nice and warm, so you can wear short sleeved or strapless wedding dresses without feeling cold. Moreover there’s an abundance of floral availability in the Summer.
Although holding your wedding in summer can be very romantic, there might also be some challenges. In the upcoming weeks I will provide you with some smart and useful suggestions on planning a wedding in summer.
Choose your destination wisely
When you decide you want to have a summer wedding you probably only think about the nice weather, the beautiful scenery and the sounds and smells of nature. However, there are quite a few things you need to consider when deciding on a location for your dream wedding.
Costs
The cost of the accommodation and travel for your wedding guests will change depending on the season. Most destination accommodations have different prices in high and low season and even higher rates during holidays. Keep this in mind when you decide on your destination, especially when your guests are paying for their own flight tickets and/or accommodation.
Holiday season
So you are getting married in the summer and some of your guests may have children. This is the holiday season for them and they probably want to make the most out of it and make it a two in one wedding/holiday. You should also think about the other guests and make sure that you choose a destination that has something for everyone such as: history, sun, beaches, and cities.
Reviews
Make sure you do your homework and check out other couples’ reviews of the destination, their accommodation and of course their actual wedding experience. For the reviews on the accommodations, you can check TripAdvisor, which is always a good place to start.
